Starry Night on the Marsh

Mark your calendars! Starry Night on the Marsh is coming Friday, September 9th starting at 6 pm. Make sure to stay for the telescope viewing!

This family-friendly event, which focuses on nocturnal animals and astronomy, starts promptly at 6:00, and it promises a full schedule of fun activities, interesting presentations, and hands-on experience opportunities. DNR staff at Horicon Marsh, Friends of Horicon Marsh volunteers and seven Dodge County libraries will provide a wide array of activities and crafts.
Activities include an owl pellet dissection, trivia games, constellation crafts, star-parachute games and more! The Marsh will give a presentation on nocturnal animals at 6:30, and members of the Northern Cross Science Foundation will discuss telescopes and the night sky at 7:15. Starting at 8:00, members of the Northern Cross Science Foundation will share telescopes for public viewing of the night sky (weather permitting). Bake sale items and snacks will be available as well.
Don’t miss this fun and educational event! Participating libraries include libraries from the following communities: Beaver Dam, Brownsville, Horicon, Hustisford, Juneau, Lomira, and Mayville.

Ice Cream Celebration

Join us on Wednesday, July 27 at 1:30 pm for our Ice Cream Celebration event! Come make ice cream in a bag, with Dodge County Dairy Ambassador Brenda Conley. We’ll have fun crafts and listen to a story! An allergy friendly option will be available upon request, while supplies last.

Oceans of Possibilities Scavenger Hunt

Oceans of Possibilities Scavenger Hunt is coming up! Come to the library on Friday, July 22 to get your hunt sheet and map with participating businesses. Scout around town and find all the escaped ocean animals hiding out at the businesses. Complete your hunt sheet with who is where, and then turn it in at the library to win a prize! You will also get an entry in the a special Scavenger Hunt Prize Drawing! All ages are welcome to participate. Completed forms must be returned to the Mayville Library no later than Monday, August 1.

Pirates Lost at Sea – Talewise Science & Stories

Wednesday, July 20th at 1:30 pm come see Talewise Science and Stories – Pirates Lost at Sea! The adventure takes place at the Mayville Park Pavilion. All ages welcome to attend!
Ahoy there, matey! Set sail with us on a thrilling action-packed adventure about a crew of quirky pirates marooned on a desert island. With mutiny and high-tide looming, they must rescue their salty captain and find a way to repair their ship before all hope is lost … at sea!
Throughout the story, we’ll explore the incredible science behind clouds, physical and chemical changes, air pressure, and more! Volunteers from the audience will help us conduct several hands-on science experiments that ‘ARRR’ sure to amaze you!

July Lego Saturday

Lego Saturday is happening at the library on Saturday, July 9 from 9 am to 1 pm. Legos will be provided. No registration needed; just stop in and build. We’d love to see your creations on Facebook and Instagram. Take a picture and share your builds! Tag us and use the hashtag #legosaturdaymayvillepl.

Zoozort

Zoozort Live Animal Program at the Park Pavilion* on Wednesday, July 6th at 1:30 pm. Come be wildly entertained as Noelle teaches us about the animals she brings to visit. More pictures and program information can be found at zoozort.com.
