Mark your calendars! Starry Night on the Marsh is coming Friday, September 9th starting at 6 pm. Make sure to stay for the telescope viewing!
This family-friendly event, which focuses on nocturnal animals and astronomy, starts promptly at 6:00, and it promises a full schedule of fun activities, interesting presentations, and hands-on experience opportunities. DNR staff at Horicon Marsh, Friends of Horicon Marsh volunteers and seven Dodge County libraries will provide a wide array of activities and crafts.
Activities include an owl pellet dissection, trivia games, constellation crafts, star-parachute games and more! The Marsh will give a presentation on nocturnal animals at 6:30, and members of the Northern Cross Science Foundation will discuss telescopes and the night sky at 7:15. Starting at 8:00, members of the Northern Cross Science Foundation will share telescopes for public viewing of the night sky (weather permitting). Bake sale items and snacks will be available as well.
Don’t miss this fun and educational event! Participating libraries include libraries from the following communities: Beaver Dam, Brownsville, Horicon, Hustisford, Juneau, Lomira, and Mayville.
